Orthodontic emergencies
Orthodontic emergencies are rare, but if you do experience one, we want you to know we are here for you. The team at KIND SMILES is available 24/7 to assist with issues in your treatment.
What is an orthodontic emergency?
An orthodontic emergency may include:
- Trauma to your face or jaw
- Severe pain that won’t go away
- Excessive bleeding
- Sudden swelling of your face or mouth
- Trouble breathing
If a bracket or wire breaks or comes loose, this is not a true emergency, but we would like you to contact our team so we can advise you if we need to schedule a special appointment for repairs. We can also instruct you on quick fixes you can complete at home in the meantime.
